Rotten, Dry Hope

I’m a rotten apple
That’s what I’ve been told
But I’m not really bad
So I prefer the term, old

The Garden State Times
Rotten fruits file suit against fresh fruit for descrimination.

A tongue in cheek
Ripe to touch
Finger a fuzzy navel
Squeezed to a punch
Since I’m being fresh
Are you willing to share
That juicy looking pear?

Where there’s tea, there is Hope”

– Wing Pinero

Ha’sonnet:tea for me

Be hot or cold
Taken each way
The leaves are bold
And found all day
I can not pass
Hope in a glass
Iced Tea for me

    1. Thank you, I try to entertain.
The format is something that happened over time. As for the flow, I get lucky some times.
Always happy to hear I’ve inspired 👍

  2. Some truth about apples! The fresh fruit and veggies are starting to hit the grocery shelves and the garden is planted! I’m hoping for a big harvest of green beans and possibly tomatoes…

    1. I think both side will walk away with a new found clarity, only to be eaten or turned into pies within the coming days.
It’s ice tea time of year!
Thank you. I’ve been playing a lot recently.

      1. I broke my phone and lost a few years of work, including 2 weeks of posts, unfinished poems and stories and every writing idea/prompt.
The fruits are still coming into the very short season we have here. Any day now.

      2. Ouch! Sorry that happened as it is quite a loss. I use Evernote for where I write and store my poems and prompts/drafts/ideas. That way they’re always in the cloud and I can write on my phone and post from my laptop. I print off what I wrote for the year at the end using Google Docs, so there’s another cloud copy and a hard copy.

      3. Thanks for the concern. Im trying to tell myself it doesn’t matter. I have more ideas than time to write.
I might have another look at Evernote, I didn’t notice the cloud feature.
Once I complete something I save it to google docs, so no worries there.
        Thanks for the info.

      4. I’m really sorry about what happened mouse but you might be having a back up right? If not you should going forward.
I hope it’s a harvest of nice good fruits, tell me what all you devour!

      5. Anything completed has been backed up, except for the WordPress posts I hadn’t had time to transfer. All works in progress and ideas are gone.
        I hope so too.

      6. I am really sorry about that, feel better mouse. See if there is a system back up sorts, that does happen sometimes so there is still a chance you can get back your work.
Wish you the best with that and try having a good day okay, not sure how much the WP posts meant really!🙃

      7. I’m going to take the phone to a repair shop but I’m not expecting much.
I’m moving on from the mistake, it’s all one can do.
Thanks for the concern, slinger 😊💚

      8. I thought it was some computer or laptop mouse but have a check, which phone do you use? That’s okay mouse we’re all humans, capable of doing more than animals right! 🙂

      9. I had a Huawei. I’ll take it to he store eventually, had a busy work week.
Animals are driven, they get more done than most humans 🤣

  3. Agist fruit. That sounds bad all around. The temps are finally getting to where iced tea is fitting, though I’ll start my day with hot. Nice fruit plate for your tea, Mr Mouse! And nice ha’sonnet! 😁🍎🍐☕️🧋

    1. I do the same. Hot Earl Grey to start the day.
Fruit every morning, thanks to the kids.
It was rhyming easily, then I noticed it fit the format. I added a line, gave it a Tweek and it was done. 😁 I think I’ve written a handful now. Any idea how many you’ve written?

      1. Not an Earl Grey fan. I’m not a fan of bergamot. Otherwise most blacks, greens, oolongs, or some rooibos. 🫖 I have a nice peach oolong to make iced tea. Good for your kids keeping you fruited. An apple a day is good for you. 🙂 And you gave the ha’sonnet a good tweak because it came out well. I’ve only found two of your handful on your site. I must have not noticed some of them. 🤔 I’ve written far too many. According to the folders I keep them in, about 630 ha’sonnets, and some of them are strings, with almost 250 of them on my site.

      2. It’s my flavour of the month.
Peach oolong sounds good. I often but my iced tea ready made.
Thank you. I’ve written a few as comments, probably why you couldn’t find them.
So you could be nearing the magic 1000 (single) ha’sonnets. Exciting times and an excellent body of work.

  4. Oh so rotten to the core, to the pit of my stomach, however a cup’a might settle things down. 😉💙 btw by the time that case comes to court the fresh fruit will join the ranks of rotten fruit 😁
