Wonderful poem. The potato did save Ireland from starvation. I love this form of poetry.

Thank you. And the famine was also another catalyst for Irish independence.

You can’t go wrong. Potato is willing to change into anything for anyone.
If I get to heaven and god looks like a giant potato I will not be surprised 🤣💚

Not even a flying haggis monster? 🤔😉💚

Ugh… That would be the worst kind!! 🤢
Unless it was a veggie haggis of course. That’s (perhaps) a god I could get on board with 😉🖤

😂 What could you possibly use to make up a veggie haggis? 💚

Ach there’s plenty recepies my friend! 😁 I’ve never eaten a flying haggis – but it’s veggie substitution is glorious!! 👍🖤

Having greater than passing appreciation of all things potato (and having a bit of Irish in me as well), I like this one!!

Thank you. I’m yet to meet a person with an aversion to potato. Also having a bit of Irish in me, I might slap them if they did 😉

I am a flying haggis
Flying all about

I was a nice potato
But now I’m past my prime
I’ve since developed rotten-ness
(This last line ends my rhyme)
Fractionally better….

Much better. And particularly relevant considering the victims of the deadly potato.
I’m a deadly veg, all can plainly see
But if you ferment me properly
We can have alcohol instead of tea.

People have trouble relaxing and letting go. (without alcohol) What will others think of me writing silly stuff like this? I’ll stick to the safe ground of birds, bees and butterflies…..
Spike did it and became rich and famous…..I live in hope M….Skip’s rolling his eyes…. (Skip’s my drinking buddy…)

I don’t really drink. I may have had 5 standard drinks for the year.
I think it’s easier for me since I don’t use my name and no one knows I do this. So I have no fear and write what I want. I know if my family read my work I would censor myself and hesitate before publishing everyday.
Spike Milligan? He was a master of nonsense, right up there with Lear.
If we could be a faction as talented we would be lucky.
Can other people see skip?

Let’s face it M you shouldn’t need the crutch of alcohol to relax and have a good time…I think it’s become a habit. I can have a good time without needing it.
Spike was a master at nonsense…..and yes if we could achieve a fraction of this we could be considered lucky.
Skip I bring in every now and again.
Here’s a link to him when I first set up FCS

I have a good time when the kids go to bed 🤣 that’s enough.
It think it starts that way for most. Those who don’t binge their way to a life long drinking problem.
We carry on and eventually we might string the right words together 👍
I’m a born and raised Aussie, I know the Bush Kangaroo. I didn’t realise you were talking about skippy.

Stringing words together
Sorta willy-nilly
Hoping in the end they come out
Sorta sane not silly
‘You often do the opposite’……
Do I?…..
Me – Well I’ll be, another Aussie….do you mind saying where you live now?
I read an Instagram quote which says “Nine out of ten worms cannot tell the difference between a peasant and a king” You will agree with me M that this raises a possibility that the tenth one maybe can?
Allow me to daydream as to how this little worm possesses such powers (I’m pushing here, having got myself into this.. I could say too hard and go off for a beer….No I will persevere…..Peasant digs up worm and offers to king for rent payment….ergo said worm knows which is which……..Pathetic I know M….best I could do

I think we have a similar style/effect. I think your formation is perhaps more silly than my own.
I am a born and raised Vic. I live in Finland now, have got longer than I ever expected.
I know that quote 😏
I was thinking more along the lines taste and digestion.
I never consider the worm a guest in the castle 🤣
