Revivals & Fame

The beautiful spring came, and when nature resumes her loveliness, the human soul is apt to revive also.

Harriet Ann Jacobs

Revival

Winter left me withered
As the cold waves broke my back
The bread and bloodlines severed
Then the ice began to crack

haiku:cherry blossom fame

turn your icy head
winter you have met your match
cherry blossom fame

In Japan, the annual blooming of cherry trees has become a significant national event. Hanami, or cherry blossom viewing, is a time for festivals and gatherings at parks and shrines, according to the Japan National Tourism Organization. Cherry blossoms, or sakura, symbolize the transience of life, which is a major theme in Buddhism.

The earth laughs in flowers.

Ralph Waldo Emerson

The roses are back
The violets are too
I don’t laugh alone
The flowers laugh at you too

    1. That’s true for now. I think a couple of generations and the seasons won’t resemble what we grew up knowing. I hope I’m wrong but I’ve seen the change in lifetime already.

  1. Love this Mr Mouse! 👍

To be serious (for this comment only) your poem ‘Revival’ actually made me weep a little.

Your words are sometimes way more sentimental and inspirational than you realise you know 🖤🖤🖤

    1. Thank you Charmer.

Nice to hear I triggered a response. Is the ice cracking for you little one?

So sweet of you to say. I sometimes try for sentimental or inspirational. When it fails it becomes sarcasm or dark humour 😉💚
