Never The Same

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

Wayne Dyer

It’s not like the old days, you can’t just leave your door unlocked anymore. That was a time before them; before they learned to open doors.
It’s frightening. Their fearlessness, their destructive power, their utter lack of remorse.
I think the screams in the night, scare me the most.
Is it a battle cry?
What do they want?
Are they in pain?
I gave them my heart when they were born and every time they cry out that hollow place in my chest aches.
They say life is never the same after children and they are right.

  2. I have a big cat that can open the lever handles of doors. He comes inside, meows and makes all kinds of noise jumping on things (which is why I shut the door!). The kids have been gone for ten years and now I have this cat. (Gotta love him though!)

    1. Cats and dogs can learn amazing talents in the name of food and shelter. To honest though, your cat sounds like a bit of a bully 🀣 Still, we love em, kids and pets.
