Three Minutes

Committee – a group of men who keep minutes and waste hours.

Milton Berle

One Minute Meditation

My new technique, nothing to it
a one minute
quick duration
meditation

I start by shifting in my seat
and scratch my feet
feeling edgy
pick a wedgie

Curse the fly buzzing round my head
get distracted
and that’s the bell
minute spent well

No such thing as the Kwik-E-Mart

This will be a quick in and out
don’t run about
follow my lead
get what you need

Supermarkets, the greedy beast
cash is their feast
sales and taste tests
but I know best

Back in the car I check the list
anything I missed?
Yup, everything
Every last thing

My Secret Pastime

People would not approve of me
they shame you see
though what I do
they do it too

My secret pastime is despised
and ostracized
I glance around
listen for sound

When I’m sure the coast is all clear
and no one’s here
My finger goes
Into my nose
