Regarding Age & Appearance

Existence is a series of footnotes to a vast, obscure, unfinished masterpiece.

Vladimir Nabokov

Naani: the reflective surface

I look at my mirror
and think
   I need a new mirror
   This one is getting old

Child’s worldly questions:

Germany,
Is that where germs come from?

My command of the English language
is like that of a child.
  By which I mean,
   I command it,
and it acts like an insolent three year old.

Dadku: a cheesy dad joke

Man in the cheese aisle
He starts talking to himself
He says Halloumi

A dadku is my own creation. A dad joke in the traditional 575 haiku format.

6 random words:
I read the news and go home to my mansion

This just in, I don’t care.

March
to the beat of your own drum,
Even
if it makes a horrific sound.
  That
will guarantee nobody listens or follows

Another thing lost
Doubt was growing
She eyed me and said
Your senility is showing

Weekly Theme:
Unfinished Work

I’ve rummaged through previously unfinished work with fresh eyes in an attempt to clear the clutter.

  2. Wonderful! I loved them all! The command of the English language really tickled me! Sparky says he can really get behind the Dadku! He is enjoying them (which is to say it is inspiring him to consider writing his own – I am afraid)!
