Timely Traditions

Whatever it is you’re scared of doing, do it. Make your mistakes, next year and forever.

Neil Gaiman

The only thing I’m scared of is dying.
Don’t know if I can ‘do it’

The Mesopotamians started the tradition of celebrating New Year.
The first-ever New Year celebrations took place in 2000 BC.

Persistence

      1. I’ve got a while to wait. At the rate I’m going it will be a couple more years. Perhaps I can hire one to try it out 🤔

    1. I think the animals live as long as humans. The shoes, only time will tell. But I imagine in the apocalyptic future giant cockroaches will be wearing them while eating Twinkies.

  1. How strange it is to think that the only thing you are afraid of is dying whilst for me it is the opposite. I am not afraid to die: everyone knows how to do this whether they know it or not; When the time comes, they just die. The end. Nobody does not know how to die and then don’t die. There is nothing to it. Living is scarier because there are so many possibilities tied to it, different ways of suffering or flourishing which seems never-ending. I guess in a way I want to make the best use of “living” and that isn’t always evident

    1. I don’t think I’m afraid I dying, I chose something to contradict old Gaiman. They fact that its one of life greatest fears helps. Although I read recently more people have a fear of public speaking than death 🤣
Personally I don’t know what I’m afraid of most, I don’t think about it enough to know.
You just summed up the pros and cons of living and dying so well 👍
