Explosive Equality

The time when everything bursts with its last beauty, as if nature had been saving up all year for the grand finale.

Lauren Destefano

Lune: money shot falls

You best be careful
And stand back
I’m ready to burst

Senryü: autumn fling

Bikinis are fine
But a wool coat and brolly
Really turn me on

Testosterone levels in both men and women spike higher in autumn than at any other time of year, several studies found. As a result, sex drive increases and men find women even more attractive than during summer months.

Through mutual admiration
The season will vow
An explosive baby boom
Nine months from now

I may be a liar
A cheat
And selfish lover
But trust me
I understand give
and take
And I’ll treat you
right
Tonight

(only valid on night of equinox)

The word “equinox” comes from the Latin meaning “equal night.”

Hay(na)ku: before the first move/equinox

Twelve
Equal guards
On either side

Since 1997, Autumn has been one of the top 100 names for girls in the United States.

Thank goodness Americans have enough sense not to call them Fall.

Weekly Theme:

  1. I like these short poems and musings. My sons are slightly irreverent. They differentiate Taylor and Taylor (male/female) by referring to one as Seamstress… (at least they have enough sense not to use that designation to their face.) No doubt there is some poor girl named Fall, hopefully her last name isn’t Down.

    1. I know of a girl called Stand Up and another Sit Down would you believe Muri. You got it, parents are Hollywood celebrities . Up and Down are their middle names. I feel for the little dears. Hate to think what they named their doggies. Sparkles and Boo ?…….

    2. Thank you.
The unisex names have become more difficult in recent years. Although that seems like an outdated approach to solve the problem.
🤣 Let’s see if Fall Down responds to your comment.

  2. A great collection again. I’m particularly grateful for explaining to me why Mrs H has had a twinkle in her eye of late! 😂

    1. Oh Matt, I’m so sorry to hear you got testeronic problems. Maybe an age problem? I hear they can combine a tetosterone-upperer with a covid jab now. Good luck for November and happy times to come…….

      1. Perhaps you should as well. A line in Mikes poem resonates with me on a serious note and you on the other hand feel the need to respond to my comment in your usual flippant way.
