I embrace the four elements to create.
I don’t see fire.
You’re right! Someone start a fire!

You’re a little mixed up.
Yeah, like a cat out of water.
No, you need to check your idioms.
I’ll do that when cats fly.
Buddy, have I got the photo for you.
Fact: Dalí believed he was the reincarnation of his older brother, also named Salvador, who had died just 9 months before the artist’s birth.
Senryü: the Return of Salvador
I am Salvador
I am my brother’s keeper

Weekly Theme:
Photo Prompt (black & white)
Great set of poems, condensing Surrealism and the Dalinian spirit into an atavistic egg.

You and Dali have inspired Billy M:
I am me
Me is I
Cos I say so
Who are we to question his logic M ?
Just hit me about taking seat. Bit slow…….yawn

That sounds a little more like Descartes 🤔
Not that I know the minds of Billy or Dali. If only.

Even I didn’t know Billy was into Descartes. Hidden talent there M……

One day he’ll run the world.

Don’t say it out loud. I don’t want him to get big-headed……
You know what? I think the world would run a lot smoother with kids running it. At least they care about climate change. No politicians working only for themselves…..
Then again M every system of ‘government’ has it’s flaws. Trouble is adults don’t want to lose their control of things but I think kids would do a damn better job at some things than we do…….

I agree. They have a simple perspective. Good and bad are black and white, no grey area.
Better having real children in office than adults acting like children.

I felt a bit uneducated here Brian. Thought atavistic was another kinda egg like fried or scrambled……My atavistic knowledge seems to be lacking…….

It’s a very uncommon word, Don-mostly utilized by genealogists and thrift store owners selling old suits. Dali also used “atavistic” in the names of several paintings. And when he bought vintage clothing.

Thank you. Much like the metamorphosis of Narcissus. Such potential, beauty, and confusion.

You’ve evoked the spirits of Dali and the Beats (and maybe some post-post-post-modernists, though that could describe many of your posts). I am so often impressed by your focused-yet-worldly meta-works. Kudos again!

Thank you for the compliment. I’m truly honoured. I’ve mostly being putting out a jumble of snippets with the time I have available. Your incite and depth into topics fat exceeds my own.

All evidence to the contrary! Your blog often seems a veritable working textbook of almost every style of poetry.

Thank you. I’m just doing what I enjoy.
I still have a few poetry forms to complete, but I’m getting there.

Your poetry kung fu is very strong. I’ve watched enough martial arts movies to confidently state poetry has everything to do with how quickly you can eat starchy foods and belch clouds of noxious gas. You can do it!

🤣🤣🤣 I thought I’d seen all the king Fu cliches. Guess I have to get back to viewing.

The movies of Stephen Chow are fantastic. Comedy mixed with Kung fu, kind of like Jackie Chan, but more modern, yet with less overt appeal to mainstream Western sensibilities. Check out ‘Kung Fu Hustle,’ if you can.

I’ve heard of Kung Fu Hustle. I don’t think I’ve seen it though. It’s on the list 👍 thanks for the recommendation.

And life goes on… I enjoyed the slide from the title to Dali and into a surreal word painting…

Took me a whole to come up with that title. I’m glad it was enjoyed.
Nothing beats the Beatles and Dali.

Oh well. you shoulda gone with it when you were younger. Except how would you now explain it to your kids?
Dad, why have you got that funny melting clock going round your arm?
Well kids, It’s a Dali clock. (blank looks all round).
This clock represents the omnipresence of time, and identify its mastery over human beings. It is said that his inspiration for the soft watch came from the surreal way that Dalí saw a piece of runny Camembert cheese melting in the sun.
Gee dad that’s fascinating…..
Billy says he didn’t even know that…
I’m putting words in your mouth? Me? Never…….

Actually that’s correct and probably similar to what I would say.
However I was considering an elephant like in temptation of St Francis or one of the reimaginings of the Angelus.
Like you said, still time.
