Seared Hearts & Tomatoes

You broken my heart
But I’ll move on
There are better things
for me than you

You can keep the heart
It may be the only one
you will ever have

I will grow a new heart

Fact: The severed head of a sea slug can grow a whole new body. (including a new heart)

Alien 1: you think the earthlings can smell it?

Alien 2: I don’t think they are intelligent enough to sense anything.

Alien 1: Turn that one! Why do you have to burn everything?

Fact: Space smells like seared steak.

Here lies Alberto Snow
killed by the deadly tomato
… as far as we know

Fact: Europeans were scared of eating tomatoes when they were introduced. They were convinced the fruits were poisonous because people would die after eating them. In reality, the acidity from the tomatoes brought out lead in their pewter plates, so they’d died of lead poisoning.

  1. Really? How can one “smell” space if it is a vacuum and you’d quickly die?? Hmm. Not that I doubt your fact. I’m just wondering about their methods…. (I enjoyed you broken hearted poem!)

    1. Your right M …astronauts when doing space walks have commented on the strange smell of space – a mix of gunpowder, seared steak, raspberries and rum. I could add floating urine, left over junk food, rocket fuel…though why someone would throw out good rum is a puzzle……

    1. Thanks, charmer.
The animal kingdom is above and beyond us in so many ways. I imagine love would be completely different if all you had to do was grow a new heart each time you broke it 💚
