Got Wood?

Driftwood

Scattered hull
Settle here
, beach
travel no further

Lost piece
, wasted
, spent
reborn in purpose
, whole

time is slower
In the space
between buildings
Pockets of bygone days
Sheltered in openness

It was a small box
Which made it easy to pack
But I’m not sure
My wife and I
Will both fit in this
Banana hammock

Rowboat

Tarred belly
Resting on the sand
Watching the water
From the shackles of land

  1. Another cracking photo my friend.
I love the verses too… I love how the tone (with the possible exception of ‘Banana Hammock’ πŸ˜‰) fits with the eerily still quality of the pic πŸ‘πŸ–€

    1. Thank you, charmer.
I have to have something to balance out the seriousness. Oh, banana hammocks.
Most the verses were written early morning or late at night when I was alone. An eerie stillness takes the place. Or maybe it was the fact that I was actually alone for once that was eerie πŸ€£πŸ’š
