Thơ bảy chữ: The House

a deal to fish in the fold
where merit calls and eyes can behold
dismay in a hand before the fall
the troubled ego swallows the truth cold

the house grows, built on other’s feet
cards stacked deep, coded to the beat
as walls rise the sun will fall
and night now shudders on the street

Thơ bảy chữ (Seven Word Poetry):
Stanzaic, written in quatrains.
7 words per line.
Rhymed, aaxa bbxb or xaxa xbxb etc.
Tonal harmony appears regarding the final word of the line.

Weekly Theme:
Vietnamese Poetry Forms

(Vietnamese poetry is mostly tonal, something that cannot be replicated in English. I apologise for this shortcoming.)

    1. Please do give it a try. I’ll keep an eye out.
I had trouble with the rules of this. I guess my accent doesn’t agree with certain sounds.

    1. Thank you. I’m not much of a teacher this week, more a failing student.
If I can get a few people interested in the forms I’ll be happy.

      1. Oh Mouse 😆… Good for you for giving it a red hot go. I am definitely interested in all the different poetry forms, even if they overwhelmed me too much to try them. I usually build up to them. 😅

      2. Thank you. That’s all we can do.
There are so many forms out
there, with varying degrees of difficulty. I’m learning that the hard way 🤣

    1. Thank you charmer.
      I’m a little ashamed.
Vietnamese poetry is a masterclass and I failed.
Their style of tonal poetry was beyond my comprehension within such a short period of study.
I came out with some interesting stuff but I had to cheat on rules 😔💚
