Seguidilla: Leave

Go the way of scattered leaves
  drifting on and on
   Caught in the blinking eye
    flitters, shudders, gone.
If one ever deceives
the answer is what holds strong
true love never leaves

Seguidilla started off as a song before eventually settling on an established poetic form. Specifically, seguidilla began as a dance song.

So here are the basic rules:

7-line poem
Syllable count for each line is 7-5-7-5-5-7-5
One assonance rhyme between lines 2 and 4; another one between lines 5 and 7
Pause between lines 4 and 5–usually an end stop
Also, the tone or focus changes between lines 4 and 5 as well

Weekly Theme:

    1. Thank you. I’m guessing I’ve covered around 100 different forms now. I probably should have kept count.
I’d love to see a black belt poetry ceremony 😂💚

  1. You write some wonderful stuff restrained by all these rules. It takes all my self discipline to produce a Haiku. Don’t know how you do it, but appreciate that you do!

    1. Thank you. If I inspire someone to try something new I’m happy.
Sometimes the rules help to guide, other times they hinder. Whenever I get frustrated I take a few weeks off from the forms.
You make your own forms. I wouldn’t be surprised if one day they taught hobbo poetry forms in schools 😉

      1. Funny, I’ve never thought of her as an animal. She does have that weird eye thing with the eels though, right?
I haven’t watch little mermaid in years. Waiting for the kids to be a bit older 😉💚

      2. Yeah, I guess she’s maybe supposed to be like an octopus / sqid like creature. Either way I love her 😁

Aw man, your kids have such a wonderful wild of Disney to look forward to! 😁👍😳

      3. I remember being confused by her mostly.
We’ve started on Disney. It’s hit and miss in a very unpredictable way. Couple more years 😊💚

      4. All ages cartoons can make my children panic. You’d think my barragement of nonsense would have prepared them but no.
        The time will come 👍💚
