I had a thought, the person who decided on the pronunciation of quiche was clearly an arsehole. This poem is a result of that thought.
Honestly, quiche, quay, faux pa, please
This nonsense brings me to my knees
Who gave them their name?
All one and the same
Who’s to blame?
The Frenchies
This is all in good fun. No offense to any French readers.
Many loan words are from French, approximately 29%, and the English language is richer for it.
Typically a six-line syllabic stanza with an ab rhyme scheme:
Line 1: 8 syllables with an a rhyme
Line 2: 8 syllables with an a rhyme
Line 3: 5 syllables with a b rhyme
Line 4: 5 syllables with a b rhyme
Line 5: 3 syllables with a b rhyme
Line 6: 3 syllables with an a rhyme

I respect your thought. These pronunciations🥴🥴 I think he must have lost his keys while naming quiche!😅 and Quay as well

If I didn’t know the definitions, I would believe someone if they told me they were French swear words 😂

Quiche is kinda cute. Is she French?

Yes, her name is Lorraine and she’s a hot and cold tart.

Sounds delicious. Seems like a good egg, even if her name is cheesy.

Good depends on what shes made of, and how.
Either way, she’s not very good for the heart.

Most welcome. Writing these out helps me to remember the information. My constant readers have to suffer the lessons 😂

Not at all. It’s interesting! I wouldn’t even attempt to tackle some of the formats. They are too restrictive for me. If I have something to say, I don’t like it being constrained by rules. That is just personal opinion though.

I understand, I feel the same way. Still, I want to attempt every form I find at least once.
When I get frustrated or have a pearl to impart I do it without ristrictions. I’m sure you’ve noticed I write a bit of free verse/ free form as well.

I have had issues with some French words – mostly the excessive use of vowels. Unlike Welsh where they have a preponderance of consonants! Made quiche for dinner yesterday – BTW real men DO eat quiche!

I know! Maybe if could somehow get the French and Welsh to mate we could solve this whole problem 😏
Love me a good quiche, extra cheese and bacon of course.
Eating quiche is a true sign of masculinity.
Strudel on the other hand 😂
