Weakness splayed
across the desert skin
Where cracks widen
with devilish grins
The porous drought
stricken plain crumbles
Braced against
the ever present rumble
There the earth
swallows the unworthy
Unwanted, malnourished,
slaves of adversity
Gone. Born solely
to suffer a foreign sin
A cavernous tremor
ripples from within

– Jonathan Sacks
