Life Cycle

Roots laid in foreign lands

Displace soil but rarely take

A bound mass of distended strands

Overwhelmed, the heart strings break

Life cycles on a belligerent tongue

Igniting a blaze combated by the young

The habitual inhibits

What grave acts may counteract

The freedom loss exhibits

Grants pardon in the face of fact

Life then dances stepping to avoid

A sudden plunge into the inevitable void
